Configuration Locations and Intended Usages¶

Configuration for Scrutinizer can be stored in different locations. There is no single best place to put your configuration, but we recommend splitting your configuration across multiple places as outlined below:

Each of the configurations inherits the configuration above if available. All the available configurations are automatically merged by Scrutinizer before running an inspection. If there are conflicting values, the configuration further down takes precedence and overwrites values in one of the parent configurations.
